Ivan was dux of Epping Boys High, back in 1965.  He went onto UNSW to study Commerce on a Commonwealth Scholarship and was asked to read honours in both Economics and Accounting. He joined his father and brother as a partner in D R Gow & Co on 1 July 1971.
